According to research, 90% of allergies are caused by dust mites and their excrements have been proven as an especially strong allergen. Dust mites can be said to live like people’s shadows. 1. Dust Mite Eliminator :
UV light, in addition to beating and vacuuming, are able to eliminate dust mites. According to a report provided by the manufacturer, a continuous UV irradiation on the bed for 15 minutes will kill 93.1% of dust mites. However, it is not easy to irradiate the entire bed.

2. Anti-Dust Mite Spray :
Dust mites feed on dander and molds shed by humans as food. The anti-dust mite sprays available on the market are not insecticides, but fungicides to inhibit the growth of molds and to reduce dust mite food supplies. The disadvantage is direct skin contact and is likely to cause parents to worry.

3. Dehumidifier :
Maintaining the indoor humidity at below 60% can inhibit the growth and reproduction of dust mites. However, low humidity will be uncomfortable for humans, and power consumption is another drawback.

4. More Frequent Washing :
High temperature (55°C) washing of bed sheets, quilt covers, and pillow covers can effectively eliminate dust mites and their excrements. However, frequent washing is unable to solve the problem completely as dust mites that live inside the mattresses, quilts, and pillows cannot be eliminated through washing.

5. Dust Mite Proof Encasement :
Based on studies conducted internationally, the use of dust mite-proof encasement is considered to be the most effective method for dust mite control.

Physical Dust Mite Proof Barrier:
Dust mite-proof bedding with minute pores will prevent dust mites from passing in and out easily. The disadvantage is that a large number of dust mites will breed on the surface of physical dust mite-proof covers and cannot be expelled.

Chemical Dust Mite Proof Bedding:
Expel dust mites with a chemical coating on the bedding. The disadvantages are direct human body contact and diminishing effectiveness over multiple washings.

Biological Dust Mite Barrier:
In addition to preventing dust mites and their excrements from passing through the minute pores and spreading, a dust mite-repellent odor also prevents dust mites from hiding on the inner and outer surfaces of the barrier to achieve expulsion.
